piekenierskloof pass roadwork delays
The South African National Roads Agency has announced that Piekenierskloof Pass, from just after the Eendekuil turn off to just after the Citrusdal intersection will be upgraded, starting early Jan 2011 and completed in February 2012.
During this time the road will be closed for 2-way traffic in 2km stretches at a time, resulting in 15-20 minute waiting periods.
Blasting will also be nescessary and will result in the road being closed periodically for periods of up to an hour. These periods when blasting are due will be indicated on signage at the approaches of the pass and will also be passed on via the media.
